Briohn Building Bicycle Team
Briohn Building Corp is once again gathering riders to join us at the Trek 100 Bike Ride to raise money for the MACC Fund. I’m proud to say that this is our 11th year raising money for this great cause to help fund research to cure childhood cancer. This ride takes on special meaning for our family because my wife, Katy, is a proud cancer survivor. Having a family member with first-hand experience gives me some newfound appreciation for what it must be like to have your child diagnosed, and even more motivation to help fund research toward a cure.
For those of you who have ridden with us in the past, you know what a great event this is. For those of you who are newbies, or friends of teammates, please join us and see what you have been missing. The folks from Trek and the MACC Fund organize a terrific event. The routes are through some very scenic country, the roads are well marked, the rest stops are stocked with food, drink, volunteers and great camaraderie, and the post-ride party is not to be missed (there’s free beer!).
Please click the link below to sign up to ride with our team. Please forward to any friends who share your enthusiasm for cycling and have them join us as well – the more the merrier! Note that there are routes of 19, 35, 62 and 100 miles, and Brett Favre will be out in front once again this year helping pave the way for the long-haulers.
I’m riding for Hope in the 29th Annual Trek 100 bike ride on Saturday, June 9th. Please consider supporting my efforts as I ride to find a cure for childhood cancers and related blood disorders. The MACC Fund has contributed over $62 million to pediatric cancer research sine 1976 and has played an important role in raising the overall cure rate for childhood cancer from 20% to 80% in that time. Yet, even children in the 80% category can still relapse and have ‘late effect’ issues which requires additional research.
Thank you for supporting my personal Trek 100 challenge on June 9th!
