30th Annual Trek 100 Bike Ride
I am riding for Hope in the 30th Annual Trek 100 bike ride on Saturday, June 1st. Please consider supporting my efforts as I ride to find a cure for childhood cancers and related blood disorders.
I will be joining over 2,000 riders in the 30th Annual TREK 100 Ride for Hope. This ride benefits the MACC Fund (Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer, Inc.) which is a great charity dedicated to helping children battling cancer and blood disorders like aplastic anemia and sickle cell disease. The TREK 100 is the largest annual fund-raiser in the 42 year history of the MACC Fund. It has helped raise $15.3 million in net proceeds since 1990.
The MACC Fund has contributed over $65 million to pediatric cancer research sine 1976 and has played an important role in raising the overall cure rate for childhood cancer from 20% to 80% in that time. Yet, even children in the 80% category can still relapse and have ‘late effect’ issues which requires additional research. Ironically both Trek and the MACC Fund started in 1976 and they have been linked to helping children for nearly three decades.
Thank you for supporting my personal Trek 100 challenge on June 1st!
