Doing It For The Kids
Trek has long supported the MACC Fund (Midwest Athletes fighting Childhood Cancer) with the Trek 100 bike ride. Because the MACC Fund had to cancel all fundraising events this year, the Trek 100 will be the only event happening this year. Our goal at Trek is to have 100% employee particiaption on August 22nd, whether by riding 100 feet or 100 miles. Since there will not be the big ride in Wisconsin this year, we have the opportunity to ride where we choose too, I will be choosing to ride 100 miles somewhere in northen Utah, route TBD.
Please consider supporting my efforts as I ride to find a cure for childhood cancers and related blood disorders. The MACC Fund has contributed over $65 million to pediatric cancer research sine 1976 and has played an important role in raising the overall cure rate for childhood cancer from 20% to 80% in that time. Yet, even children in the 80% category can still relapse and have ‘late effect’ issues which requires additional research.
Thank you for supporting my personal Trek 100 challenge!
